KU marks Youm-e-Takbir by remembering late A. Q. Khan

KARACHI: Staff and students of Karachi University took out rally to mark Youm-e-Takbir anniversary when Pakistan declared as nuclear state before world. Rally started from new administration block of varsity culminated at administration building. Vice Chancellor Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi, Registrar Dr Imran Ahmad Siddiqui, deans, chairpersons, teachers of faculties, students, staff and employees attended event, said a spokesperson of KU.
Participants carrying national flags and holding placards recalled momentous day witnessed more than two decades ago. Dr Khalid Mahmood Iraqi mentioned that Mohsin-e-Pakistan Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan had done great favor to Pakistani nation, adding that late nuclear scientist would be remembered for this great service.
He recalled that after India’s nuclear tests, Pakistan reciprocated with same gesture then and sent clear message to world and particularly to India that Pakistan could face its enemy without relying on others. He said that Pakistan Armed Forces are fighting against internal and external enemies and against conspiracies.
