KARACHI: Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) benchmark KSE-100 Index touched record high of 82,000 during intra-day trading.KSE-100 started with strong buying spree that continued for most part of day, though late-session buying trimmed some gains.

At close, benchmark index settled at 81,459.29, gain of 997.95 points or 1.24 percent. Volume on all-share index increased to 459.04 million from 400.19 million on Wednesday. Value of shares rose to Rs 18.61 billion from Rs 15.9 billion in previous session. Kohinoor Spinning was volume leader with 35.18 million shares, followed by K-Electric Ltd with 23.82 million shares and WorldCall Telecom with 22.93 million shares. Shares of 469 companies were traded on Thursday, of which 145 registered an increase, 239 recorded fall while 85 remained unchanged. Gold rate registers increase   From NC Correspondent ISLAMABAD: Per tola price of 24 karat gold increased by Rs 800 and was sold at Rs 268,500 on Thursday compared to its sale at Rs 267,700 on last trading day. Price of 10 grams of 24 karat gold also increased by Rs 685 to Rs 230,195 per ten gram from Rs 229,510 per ten gram whereas price of 10 gram 22 karat gold went up to Rs 211,012 from Rs 210,384 per ten gram.
