Karachi: Karachi Press Club and Urban Psychiatric Hospital signed an agreement to provide facilities for treatment of mental, psychological and drug disorders to members of Karachi Press Club and their families. According to agreement, Urban Psychiatric Hospital and Mansiat Hospital will give 50 percent discount for treatment and admission. This facility will also be available to ordinary journalists. Simple agreement ceremony was held at Karachi Press Club. President Club Saeed Sarbazi, Secretary Shoaib Ahmed and Director Urban Hospital Syed Salahuddin Akhtar signed agreement after which document was exchanged. Saeed Sarbazi, Joint Secretary Aslam Khan, Chairman Health Committee Tufail Muhammad, Shams Kerio, Kafail Faizan, Khursheed Anwar, Zain Siddiqui and other club members were present.
Sarbazi said there is an economic crisis in country, in current situation, journalists suffer from depression during their professional engagements. He invited Urban Hospital to organise camp in Club.
Secretary said that on behalf of Urban Psychiatric and Narcotics Hospital, members of Club and their families and all journalists are given mental, psychological and drug treatment.
Shoaib Ahmed said that treatment has become difficult in government hospitals, due to inflation it is also difficult to get treatment for common man. We are trying to provide health facilities to members of Club and their families. Karachi Press Club is soon introducing health card for Club members. This will provide health facilities to members and their families. In this regard, discussions are going on with Sindh Health Minister to provide health facilities to journalists in 4 major hospitals of city.
