KPC members discuss journalist community matters with Gov Tessori

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and 8-member delegation of Karachi Press Club (KPC) discussed multiple matters at Governor House. Governor paying tribute to services of Karachi Press Club for survival, stability and promotion of democracy said that Karachi Press is guardian of democratic traditions, holding regular elections in this institution is worthy of praise. Kamran Tessori said that importance of journalism cannot be denied as it is fourth pillar of state, he said that journalists are eyes and ears of society and because of them, government gets awareness of public issues. Governor said that he will talk to owners to pay salaries and dues of media workers. Secretary Shoaib Ahmed, Vice President Mushtaq Sohail, Joint Secretary Aslam Khan, Governing Body members Shams Careo, Zulfiqar Wahoocho, Zulfiqar Rajpar, Farooq Sami and Ramiz Wahra participated.
Meanwhile, meeting was held Administrator Karachi Dr Syed Saifur Rehman, Commissioner Karachi Iqbal Memon, Additional IG Javed Alam Odhu and representatives of various NGOs to discuss Ramadhan bachat bazaars.
Governor said that thrift markets will be set up at different places in city and people should be ensured availability of essential items at cheap prices. Kamran Tessori said that basic necessities should be provided to public at lower than market rates, adding that through mutual cooperation, markets should preferably be set up in middle class and poor populations.
