KP polls delay: PTI decides to file plea in SC

NC Desk PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf decided to file plea against delay in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa elections in Supreme Court. As per details, former Information Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Shaukat Yousafzai said that Barrister Ali Zafar and Barrister Gohar Khan will file plea in Supreme Court today.
He said that Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Haji Ghulam Ali announced May 28 as election date in KP and then changed date to October 8 without any reason. Earlier today, Supreme Court declared Election Commission of Pakistan's March 22 order on Punjab elections null and void. Supreme Court declared ECP's order postponing provincial assembly elections until October 8 as "Unconstitutional" and ordered government to release Rs 21 billion funds for elections in Punjab by April 10. Election Commission of Pakistan has announced date for general elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
