KP Minister LG apprises world donors of flood relief

Peshawar: KP Minister LG met world donors in Islamabad while government’s track record in dealing natural disasters and financial discipline were lauded in meeting.

KP Minister for Local Government, Elections and Rural Development Sardar Faisal Amin Gandapur apprised members of international donor organisations of developmental momentum and situation aroused of recent stormy rains and floods in province.  

He briefed them about government’s measures for rehabilitation of affected people and restoration of public installations and communication networks on this occasion. 

Secretary LG Zaheerul Islam Shah, DG LG&RD Usman Mehsud, senior officials of United Nations Development Programme, Japan Government’s Development and donor agency JICA and German aid agency GIZ participated in meeting that was held at KP House Islamabad.

He expressed his gratitude to UNO and friendly countries for generous financial support and assistance in every difficult hour including natural disasters and to speed up development process in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.  

He clarified that keeping regional and political expediencies above all else, international community and friendly countries extended whole hearted assistance to KP government in gearing up its development speed and rehabilitation of affectees in backdrop of recent devastating floods in province.
