KMC Council to form committee to discuss street crimes situation with IGP

KARACHI: Mayor Karachi Barrister Murtaza Wahab agreed to proposal to form committee consisting of City Council members to deal with increasing street crimes in Karachi, which would meet Sindh police chief and discuss crime situation in city. Chairing meeting at Karachi Metropolitan Corporation-KMC’s Council proposal was also made by members of House to form committee consisting of City Council members to deal with increasing street crimes in Karachi, to which Wahab termed it as timely and said that committee consisting of members of House will be formed today which will meet with IG Sindh.

He said every political party will be represented in committee to inform law enforcement agencies about crime situation in Karachi and to urge immediate steps in this regard. He said that proceedings of meeting of city were held in good manner and hoped this would continue in future sessions of council so that members of this council could provide relief to citizens of Karachi from various problems.

Mayor said that according to tradition of city council, meeting of council is postponed after death of member, so today’s meeting is also postponed, next meeting will be held on March 8, 2024.

Deputy Mayor Karachi Salman Abdullah Murad also participated in meeting. During meeting, prayers were offered for Shaheed UC Chairman Sabir Ali Magsi of Pakistan Peoples’ Party from Malir District UC 9 Bakhtawar Goth.
