KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples’ Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that King’s party would encounter challenges in upcoming general elections.

Speaking at Safari Park here, Bilawal expressed trust in his party’s success in both general election and local bodies poll, stressing capacity to contend with Maulana Fazlur Rehman.  Highlighting party’s success in local bodies’ elections, particularly in Karachi, Bilawal hoped that PPP would also win on February 8.  Reacting to recent electoral alliance between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan, he claimed that coalition will be more beneficial for his party in upcoming general election. Bilawal said that he worked hard to make Shehbaz Sharif Prime Minister.

He voiced concerns over economic and political crisis, emphasising Sindh’s rights and harassment of resources. Criticising PTI’s past stance on democracy, he asserted commitment to holding elections on February 8 and advocated for strong approach towards Tehreek-e-Taliban in context of Afghanistan.

Talking about disloyalty within political parties, Bilawal warned that those abandoning their parties would face consequences in elections. He criticised slogans in Punjab favouring bureaucrats, stating that PTI now recognises importance of constitution and law, underscoring need for collective learning experience. He expressed commitment to enhancing facilities for Karachi’s citizens, particularly in terms of travel and recreation, citing positive impact of Dino Safari Park on KMC’s income.
