Karachi: Elected management of Karimabad Ismailia Multi-Purpose Cooperative Society Limited ST2 told reporter of Daily National Courier newspaper that after 2016, election of society was delayed for seven years and in 2018 National Accountability on request of residents of society, Bureau completed inquiry against corruptions of previous management and filed Reference 29 of 2018 against Society's Managing Director, Honorary Secretary, Treasurer, 4 Board of Directors and government officials of various institutions.

Some of accused were arrested, after which more accused were arrested in 2019 when pre-arrest bail was canceled and society was superseded by Registrar Cooperative Society Sindh and an administrator was appointed whose work was done by appointing two society members. And certain group continued to run affairs of society by being front man of administrator and during this period of four years millions of rupees were spent by society in name of development without any approval from members or any kind of audit.

In March 2023, an election officer was appointed by Registrar Cooperative Society Sindh who conducted an election on May 7 and two groups of candidates participated.

According to its manifesto, society started development works and after seven years in society, annual general body meeting was called and agenda related to construction and development of society was kept by society members.

Development works included installation of Chiller plant, water supply system and sewerage line fixing, placing benching, cleanliness and dustbins, repairing of loose wires, strengthening security, installation of gas meters, building family park and maintenance work besides initiating audit is hall mark of society, he informed. Secretary of society Imran Arwan Panjwani clearing his position said some candidates of action panel filed complaint against Registrar Cooperative Society Sindh and relevant election officer for stalling election in special court of cooperative society, Civil Suits 905/2023 Vth Senior Civil Judge, Karachi (West). All parties including Honorary Secretary submitted reply and case is pending, so until case is decided, do not take into account any adverse information given by Action Panel and any such news. Do not publish what is related to case.
