KIMCSL residents harassed by criminal office-bearers

KARACHI: Sarah Junejo, Vth Additional Sessions Judge Karachi Central has ordered SHO of Azizabad Police Station, District Central to take appropriate action against individuals (Secretary Imran Arwan Punjwani and ten others) of Karimabad Ismailia Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited who take law in their hands. Concerned SHO is directed to provide legal protection to petitioner Aftab Hussain son of Hussain Ali, resident of Flat No.J-224, Block-B of KIMCSL.

By this order court disposed of instant criminal misc. petition under section 22- A & B CrPC, moved by petitioner Aftab Hussain praying therein to record statement under Section 154 CRPC and register FIR against culprit Imran Arwan Punjwani and ten other proposed accused so also provide legal protection. According to petitioner Aftab Hussain, other ten accused included; Gulshan Abdul Aziz, Salman Jalaluddin, Ali Asghar Chagani, Malik Mehdi Muhammad, Famida Imam Yar Baig, Rozina Mohabbat Ali, Rukhsana M. Nasir Budhwani, Bashir Ahmed Amir Wali Khan, Ashiq Ali M. Ali and Abdul Majeed M. Ali.

Sabeen Shafi appeared in court as counsel for applicant/petitioner. Petitioner had mainly contended that on August 4, 2023 around 2pm when he tried to install stall, accused Imran Arwan Punjwani along with 3 unknown identifiable persons on 2 motorcycles came there; Imran Arwan kicked stall and started using abusive language with him. After that Imran Arwan Punjwani directed petitioner to vacate flat, otherwise he will stop/block water as well as other civic necessities. Due to fear, petitioner Aftab Hussain moved applications to S.S.P, (Complaint Cell), District Central, S.H.O, P.S Azizabad Central, and different high-ups but all efforts of petitioner/applicant resulted into vain. Therefore, applicant/ petitioner filed instant petition/application and seek legal protection from hands of accused Imran Arwan Punjwani and ten others.

According to informed sources KIMCSL was emerged in 1960 under Society Act Rules. Ismailia Charitable Trust was entrusted with responsibility of project. Presently Society's Administrative Committee is occupied by mostly non-residents persons in violation of rules and regulations by connivance of culprits of government Registrar Office.

Current Chairman of Committee is claimed by Malik Mehdi Muhammad while Imran Arwan Punjwani is claiming as Secretary. Chairman himself is defaulter of Pak Fidai Ismailia General Co-operative Society Limited and non-resident of KIMCSL. He is currently residing in Al-Aman Society along with Secretary Imran Arwan Punjwani and Directors Fehmida Imam Yaar Baig, Ali Asghar Chagani, who are failed to produce any evidence which shows they have no membership rights according to Society Act section 24 and 17b. Rukhsana Budhwani also does not reside in premises of KIMCSL.
