Kim Kardashian and her sister Khloé Kardashian recently shared behind-the-scenes details of their 48-hour trip to Mumbai, India, for Anant Ambani’s extravagant wedding.
While the Kardashians are known for their lavish lifestyle, Kim’s expectations about India left fans stunned. During the latest episode of The Kardashians, Kim admitted that she thought Mumbai’s markets would resemble scenes from the 1992 Disney movie Aladdin—a fictional tale set in Agrabah, a Middle Eastern-inspired city. “What you see Aladdin going to and stealing the bread from—that’s where I thought we were going,” Kim confessed. Kim and Khloé, who had limited time in India, decided to explore local markets before attending the wedding festivities. However, Kim was visibly surprised by the crowded streets, honking rickshaws, and bustling atmosphere of Mumbai. When informed they would be walking to the market, Kim hesitated and suggested taking a taxi instead. She was also startled by a stray dog and exclaimed, “Oh!
I don’t do random dogs!” Meanwhile, Khloé had a more open-minded reaction, even pointing out a Starbucks nearby. “We are not in Calabasas anymore,” Khloé joked in a confessional, referencing their elite LA neighbourhood. Despite the initial culture shock, Kim and Khloé visited local market stalls, purchasing souvenirs for their children, including jewellery and a Princess Jasmine figurine for Kim’s daughter, Chicago West. The sisters even embraced Mumbai’s local transportation culture, taking a rickshaw ride back to their hotel—an experience they documented on social media. Kim addresses wedding outfit controversy Kim also used the episode to address backlash over her red outfit at the wedding, a color traditionally worn by Hindu brides.
