Kh Asif warns state institutions to stay within their constitutional limits

Islamabad: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif warned state institutions to stay within their constitutional limits and stressed that government would not allow anyone to interfere with Parliament’s affairs.
His comments came as government is in virtual standoff with Supreme Court over issue of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa general elections and bill that seeks to curtail Chief Justice’s suo motu power.tisement: 1:08 “We will not allow anyone to breach Parliament’s jurisdiction,” he told as country faces one of its worst economic and political turmoil. He said government wants to strengthen judiciary as it would help masses in availing justice. “Background needs to be examined of ongoing issues in Supreme Court.
” Asif said Parliament is “Mother of democracy”, but due to ongoing situation in country, legislative is less involved in politics compared to apex court. “Institutions should respect their constitutional limits,” he said, asking them not to breach their jurisdiction.
