KARACHI: Power utility company is requesting fuel adjustment of Rs 3.9 per unit for month of July.
If approved, this would add an additional burden of over Rs 6 billion on consumers. NEPRA is scheduled to hold hearing on K-Electric’s application on August 29. NEPRA previously approved electricity price increases in May and June, responding to earlier requests from K-Electric. In May, price per unit was raised by Rs 2.59, followed by further increase of Rs 3.16 per unit in June, both under fuel price adjustment mechanism. As this decision looms, consumers are bracing for potential impact on their electricity bills, highlighting ongoing challenge of managing energy costs in region.
