KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami’s (JI) Karachi Chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman while terming K-Electric “Mafia”, claimed that there existed white-collar criminals in administration.

Speaking about difficulties faced by people in general, Naeemur Rehman said, “It is difficult for them to manage expenses of their homes.”

He praised Al-Khidmat Foundation, saying, “Duty which Sindh Government should fulfil is being done by Al-Khidmat Foundation.

“Many of Bachat Bazaars that were constructed by Sindh government are closed. Bachat Bazaars are being installed by using money generated from taxes we paid,” he lamented. He scolded K-Electric for charging four types of taxes.

He urged Sindh government to provide subsidies to everybody. Underscoring problems faced by people, He said, “At some places, people are deprived of facility of gas during both Sehar and Iftar.” He held Sindh government, K-Electric and National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) responsible for problems faced by people.
