K-Electric consumers likely to get big relief in bills from next month

KARACHI: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) is likely to cut power tariff for K-Electric (KE) consumers by Rs 7.83 per unit on account of fuel charges adjustment (FCA) for month of November 2022. According to details, KE consumers may get relief of Rs 3.15 billion as K-Electric has sought cut for its consumers on account of quarterly fuel charges adjustment.

NEPRA will conduct public hearing on KE’s petition for reduction in power tariff on November 30. With approval, KE consumers would get relief from next month’s electricity bills. On November 11, National Electric Power Regulatory Authority on Friday lowered power tariff by Rs 5.13 paisas per unit for K-Electric consumers. According to notification issued by NEPRA, tariff has been reduced on account of fuel cost adjustments for month of September 2022.
