KARACHI: A group of unidentified men stormed K-Electric (KE) office in IBC Surjani Town when a protest was going on outside building against prolonged load shedding and inflated electricity bills. A protest was staged outside KE office for three hours.
Later, a group of unidentified men stormed KE office and started vandalising assets and torched it. Following blaze, additional contingents of police force reached KE office and brought out staffers and consumers trapped inside building. Smoke inside building worsened condition of several persons who were trapped inside office. KE management decided to take legal action against those who have attacked its offices and lodged cases against them. KE spokesperson condemned attacks on K-Electric offices in name of protests.
Spokesperson added that power providing companies were bound to follow government and regulator’s orders regarding prices of electricity units. After federal government’s announcement, K-Electric was using all resources to provide FCA relief to its consumers.
