Held Srinagar: Kashmiris on both sides of Line of Control and world observed Indian Independence Day as Black Day in protest against New Delhi’s illegal occupation of their homeland.

Day is marked by a complete shutdown and civil curfew in IIOJK call for which has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference and supported by all Hurriyat leaders and organisations. Black flags are hoisted everywhere in occupied territory. Kashmiris across world are holding anti-India demonstrations to draw world’s attention towards Indian brutalities in IIOJK.

All Parties Hurriyat Conference leaders including Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Shabbir Ahmad Shah in their statements said India has no right to celebrate its Independence Day in IIOJK as it is holding territory against will of Kashmiri people. Leaders said India is rejoicing on its freedom but killing Kashmiris for demanding same. Isn’t it a matter of shame for New Delhi? They pointed out that India has mercilessly killed over 96,000 Kashmiris in last 32 years but is still observing its Independence Day in territory shamelessly.

New Delhi, they added, is celebrating its freedom from Britishers, today, but denying same to IIOJK people.
