KARACHI: The office of the sub-registrar cooperative societies-II Karachi conducted the elections of Karimabad Ismailia Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd ST-2. Karachi on Sunday 26 May 2024 and announced the names of only three winner directors as; Feroza Babajaan, Suleman Sirajuddin and Shamsher Khan Qureshi. 

The results were announced by Arif Baloch Sub-Inspector, being authorized election officer. However, announcement of the Chairman’s name was withheld under the order of Sindh High Court issued on 24 May, 2024 against the appeal filed by former Chairman of Committee Malik Mehdi. The Court order said that the Appellant has argued that the post of Chairman be excluded because he will get unopposed resulting in further complications in the matter.

Hence, the earlier order was modified to the extent that Elections will be held as per Schedule, under Statutory Scheme of the Sindh Cooperative Societies Act-2020 and Bye-Laws. However, it was clarified that the result of the Elections will be subject to the outcome of this Appeal, while the case is to be listed in the second week after Summer Vacations, the Order said.

It may be mentioned her that the election of the Chairman and 1/3 (03) Directors of the Karimabad Ismailia Multipurpose Co-operative Society Ltd were held on Sunday in compliance of the order of the Registrar, Cooperative Societies, Sindh vide his letter dated 05-04-2024.
