KARACHI: Abdul Wajid Shaikh, Registrar Cooperative Societies Sindh has been repeatedly informed against corruption prevailed in Karimabad Ismailia Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited (KIMCSL) ST2 by its managing committee but he does not bother to take any action under the law and perform his lawful duties.

Aftab Hussain Ali, a resident and member of the society filed written complaint to Registrar against illegal activities of the managing committee specially its malpractices in “W” Building which is an old structure to be demolished and rebuild physically. But the committee Secretary Imran Arwan after shifting its 35 residents to K6 building rented the “W” building flats illegally to some other people and pocketing the rent amounts for his personal use.

In this regard Imran Arwan is not only charging heavy rents but also extra amounts for water, electric, and maintenance services. He has connected them electricity through illegal and dangerous “Kunda” system, on account of society members, while they are using gas through cylinders which is again dangerous for all residents of the society.

It may be mentioned here that earlier Registrar allowed unlawful holding of 9th Annual General Body meeting (AGM) on 28th December 2024 under his patronage while the members of society had already filed complaints against various criminal acts and offences committed by the Secretary and so called chairman of Society managing committee.

These criminal activities were very much in knowledge of the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, as controlling authority; appointed by Government of Sindh but he was not fulfilling his lawful duties.

Informed sources disclosed that copies of this complaint were also dispatched to Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah, his advisor on Cooperatives Ehsan Ur Rehman Mazari, M.D, KWSB and Managing Director K-Electric. But they did not bother to take immediate action against corrupt office-bearers of the managing committee endangering the lives of all society members and residents.
