KARACHI: Request to Sindh Registrar Cooperative Societies for addressing irregularities at Karimabad Ismailia Multipurpose Cooperative Society Limited (KIMCSL) has gone un-noticed by concerned higher authority.

Daily ‘National Courier’ last week had mentioned in news item that Registrar Cooperative Societies office Sindh has been allegedly involved in corruption and maladministration in day to day affairs of KIMCSL. Hence, an immediate action is urged to ensure safety and fundamental rights of resident community members in relation to NAB Ref No. 29/2018 pending in NAB Court-1 Karachi.

Resident’s/members of Society in their complaint to Registrar and copies submitted to concerned authority, Registrar was alleged of conducting fake and fabricated elections of Society that took place on May 7, 2023 and inducted an illegal Committee while this practice has been continued for past 25 years, causing great distress and injustice to Ismailia Community and Society.

Copies of this complaint dated September 15, 2023 were also submitted to Deputy Registrars concerned Sajid Surahiyo, Naveed Abbasi, Assistant Registrars Hasnain Shah and Abid Khan, Court of Vth Senior Civil Judge/Special Court, Karachi West, Society Suit No. 905/2023, Secretary Cooperative, Chairman Anti-Corruption Establishment Sindh and Chairman NAB HQ Shahrah-e-Jamhuriat Islamabad in addition to NAB Ref 29/2018 pending in NAB Court-1 Karachi.

However, there was not single response or acknowledgement received from anyone of above. Bureaucracy of Registrar Cooperative Societies is playing havoc with residents of various member societies by patronising unscrupulous elements involved in embezzlement of millions of rupees and making life miserable for honest taxpayers by regularly avoiding audit of accounts.

Residents had also demanded for complete audit of accounts in Society affairs but this demand has yet not been fulfilled. Residents disclosed to newspaper suffering for last five years in hands of administrators appointed by Registrar Cooperative Societies, while matter has already entered Court against inefficient officials of Registrar office. Concerned Residents had filed suit in court against Sindh government, Jahanzeb Administrator, Society, Registrar Cooperative Societies, Deputy Registrar and Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies-IV.
