Kareena Kapoor and Abhishek Bachchan made their Bollywood debut with Refugee in 2000. In an old interview, Kareena called Abhishek one of her ‘closest friends’.

When asked how she would ‘rate Abhishek Bachchan in film (Refugee)’, Kareena had said, “As an actor, he is better, at least I find him thousand-fold better. His father (Amitabh Bachchan) was best, but he is going to be better than best. I am sure about it. As person, he is wonderful.

In early 2000s, there was brief period when Abhishek Bachchan and Kareena’s elder sister, Karisma Kapoor, were reportedly all set to marry. Karisma was seen with Bachchan family at events.–Agencies
