KARACHI: Hopes for reduction in recent heatwave in Karachi have faded, as Meteorological Department has predicted three more days of heat.

Karachi experienced hot day, with temperatures potentially exceeding 40 degrees Celsius, while temperatures could reach 40 degrees today and 39 degrees on Tuesday. During first half of day, hot and dry winds from Balochistan may impact Karachi. Coastal sea breezes are expected to resume briefly in evening. Humidity levels may increase in morning, while they may remain moderate in afternoon. According to Meteorological Department, there is no likelihood of heatwave during current heatwave, as heatwave condition occurs due to persistent closure of sea breezes for three consecutive days.

Other factors include temperatures remaining at 40 degrees for three days and humidity levels exceeding 60 percent during day. In rural Sindh, temperatures in Sajawal, Thatta, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas and Tharparkar could rise up to 42 degrees.
