Karachi servant death: SHC grants bail to woman, two other suspects

KARACHI: Sindh High Court (SHC) granted bail to woman and two other suspects in case of ‘torturing’ 14-year-old servant to death in Bahadurabad. CCTV footage of incident that emerged last month showed woman took body of servant to hospital and disappeared.
Advocate Liaquat Gabool appeared before court representing family of deceased servant. SHC granted bail to woman Samreen and two other suspects in case against surety bonds of Rs 50,000 each.
According to first information report registered at Bahadurabad Police Station, young boy who was brutally tortured to death was working as domestic servant. There were multiple torture marks on boy’s body. Samreen and her son Farhan Javed were arrested by police from bungalow near Shaheed-e-Millat Road, said SSP East Abdul Raheem Sheerazi.
SSP Sheerazi said servant, who was ‘tortured to death’ actually belonged to Punjab. Mother and son in initial investigation confessed to their crime.
Accused according to SSP East said, boy was tortured over allegation of stealing Rs 20,000 and was given first aid at home after his condition worsened.
