Karachi Police Chief assures industrialists to make SITE area crime-free

KARACHI: Additional Inspector General of Police Karachi, Javed Alam Odho has assured industrialists of site industrial area to implement effective security measures, said that Safe City project will be inaugurated very soon, main office of which will consist of 10-storey building.
Police system to shift on smart card system, besides ordering body cams for police. No SHO in Karachi will patrol without body cap camera, while patrolling vehicles equipped with modern cameras are starting from South Zone, police patrol vans have been arranged at cost of 3 million for this purpose.
Addressing Site Association of Industry leaders Patron General Zubair Motiwala, Chief Coordinator Saleem Parekh, President Riaz Uddin, KCCI President Tariq Yusuf, SVP SITE Abdul Qadir Bilwani, Vice President Muhammad Hussain Mossani and members Javed Alam Odho said that street crimes have increased across city, especially in industrial areas. He said that to ensure establishment of peace on permanent basis, consultations are being made with business community and their suggestions are actively being considered and implemented.
Additional IG Karachi said that we are ready for action against occupation mafia in industrial areas. Effects of ongoing economic crisis in country are affecting industrial areas, while increasing unemployment may worsen law and order situation.
He assured industrialists investigation of attack on businessman Muhammad Lakhani will soon reach its logical conclusion. He announced appointment on post of SP site which position was vacant since 2 years.
Zubair Motiwala appealing to Additional IG Police to provide security to business community said that we are ready to help police in establishing peace and order. Sindh government should implement plans to make Karachi safe city.
Riazuddin called attention of Javed Alam Odho to worsening law and order situation in SITE especially attacks on industrialists and free acts of street crime.
“SITE industrial area provide direct livelihood to half million families and if industries closed down due to economic or law and order situation then livelihood of millions of families will go not jeopardy.
