Karachi: Sindh Chief Secretary Asif Hyder Shah chaired meeting to review preparations ahead of urban flooding risk in Karachi in wake of upcoming monsoon.

  Sindh top bureaucrat said all institutions were on board with Meteorological Department and PDMA to untoward possible stormy rains and flood disasters in Sindh. Asif Hyder Shah was directed to summon meeting of all deputy commissioners and district disaster management authorities. Asif Hyder Shah directed concerned department to ensure availability of emergency equipment, machinery and dewatering pumps and field personnel.Sindh CS said due to climate change, province has been facing more rain and floods than usual.

He warned that there was risk of urban flooding due to rain in all major cities of Sindh including Karachi. Sindh Minister Saeed Ghani said Karachi local government representatives will also be included in rehabilitation work.
