Actress Kangana Ranaut’s Twitter account was restored two years after her controversial post on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi led to her being banned from micro-blogging site.
Kangana lauded film, stating such projects “Definitely work” at box office. However, soon after, Queen star slammed film for depicting “Enemy nation Pakistan in good light.”
Her tweets were reportedly a retaliation to Karan Johar’s Instagram post, where he celebrated action thriller’s phenomenal performance at box office and wrote, “Love forever trumps hate.” Taking to Twitter once again, Kangana claimed that film’s success was only due to “India’s love and inclusiveness towards film called Pathaan.”
She wrote, “All those who are claiming Pathaan is triumph of love over hate, I agree, but whose love over whose hate? Let’s be precise, who is buying tickets and making it success? Yes, it is India’s love and inclusiveness where 80 percent Hindus live and yet film called Pathaan, which shows our enemy nation Pakistan in good light is running successfully. It is this spirit of India beyond hate and judgments that makes it great.”
She suggested that film’s name be changed to ‘Indian Pathaan’. Referring to Taliban rule in Afghanistan, she wrote, “Crux is India will never be Afghanistan. We all know what is happening in Afghanistan. It’s beyond hell there, so an apt name for movie Pathaan according to its storyline is ‘Indian Pathaan’.”–Agencies
