‘Kamran Tessori vowed full support to journalist community with timely redressal of issues’

KARACHI: A 16-member delegation of Pakistan Print and Electronic Media Foundation (PPEMF), headed by Z H. Khurram, called on Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori at Governor House recently.

Freedom of press, problems faced by the journalist community, welfare measures and other issues were discussed during the meeting. On the occasion, the governor said that journalism is the fourth pillar of the state and the journalistic community has rendered immense services for the continuity of democracy.

He asserted that the government believes in the freedom of the press and very much aware of the problems facing the journalists’ community and he assured all possible support for the welfare of the journalists.

Talking exclusively to ‘Daily National Courier’, Governor Sindh said that in the current scenario it is the need of the hour to take on board all the major stakeholders in the country to get rid of the continuing problems.

He also said that Pakistan is passing thru a critical time and at this moment effective comunication, close liasion, coordinated efforts without any prejudice is significant.

“I will try my level best to bring Karachi back to its right glory by working with utmost dedication”, Tessori added.
