KARACHI: Prominent businessman Junaid Naqi has been elected unopposed as new President of Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI).

Ahmed Sheikh was elected as senior Vice President and Syed Tariq Hussain was named Vice President, marking beginning of new leadership phase for influential industrial association. KATI’s Deputy Patron-in-Chief, Zubair Chhaya extended congratulations to newly elected office bearers, praising contributions of outgoing President Johar Qandhari and past presidents for their efforts in elevating KATI’s standing. Chhaya expressed confidence in Naqi’s leadership, stating that association’s upward trajectory would continue under his guidance.

Johar Qandhari, in his farewell remarks, expressed optimism about Junaid Naqi’s potential to further develop Korangi Industrial Area and positively impact local economy. He described Naqi as capable leader and emphasised importance of his role in advancing KATI’s mission to support business community. Junaid Naqi upon his election, thanked SM Tanveer, Zubair Chhaya and other senior members for their trust and support. He pledged to follow vision of late SM Munir and work diligently for industrialists and business community of Korangi. Naqi emphasised his commitment to enhancing infrastructure and addressing key issues faced by industrial area. KATI’s senior leadership and members expressed confidence in Naqi’s ability to lead association effectively.

They conveyed their expectations that he would tackle challenges facing KATI and continue to uphold its legacy of progress for industrial sector in Karachi.
