Judicial remand of three PTI leaders extended

Lahore: Judicial remand of three leaders of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf including former Punjab governor Omer Sarfaraz Cheema, Mehmoodur Rasheed and Ejaz Chaudhry was extended for 14 days in different cases of arson and vandalism.
Judicial remand of Omer Sarfaraz Cheema was extended for 14 days in Jinnah House attack and vandalism case. Punjab ex-governor had been brought to an anti-terrorism court here in wheelchair due to illness.
Jinnah Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Yahya Salman presented medical report of Omer Sarfraz Cheema in court which ordered provision of good treatment facilities to Punjab ex-governor.
Police requested court to extend judicial remand of Omer Sarfraz Cheema. "Challan of Jinnah House attack case is in process of preparation. Judicial remand of accused should be extended," investigation officer pleaded with court.
Similarly, judicial remand of Mehmoodur Rasheed was extended for 14 days in case of setting fire to Shadman Police Station and police vehicles in Gulberg. Court ordered PTI leader to reappear on August 7 next.
Mehmoodur Rasheed walked himself to courtroom. He had suffered heart attack in jail and was admitted to Punjab Institute of Cardiology.
Similarly, judicial remand of Ejaz Chaudhry was extended for 14 days in Jinnah House attack and vandalism case. Court ordered him to reappear on August 7 next.
Meanwhile, PTI leader and former health minister Yasmin Rashid was produced before an anti-terrorism court here on completion of his judicial remand in cases of setting PML-N office on fire, Askari Tower attack and setting fire to Shadman Police Station.
Former ministers and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Asad Umar appeared before joint investigation team of Federal Investigation Agency for investigations into cypher matter. FIA had summoned both leaders for today.
