Lacking the necessary resources and opportunities to meet basic needs and lead a decent life is a condition where individuals or communities struggle to access essentials such as food, shelter, education, healthcare, and employment. When women are empowered to start their own businesses, it helps them escape poverty and benefits their families and communities. By giving women access to resources, education, and support, we can unlock their potential and contribute to long-term economic growth. Women's empowerment leads to improved livelihoods, better education for their children, and stronger communities overall. Investing in women is a powerful strategy for poverty reduction and sustainable development.

The students of the Final Year Batch of 2020 from Jinnah University for Women, Nazimabad, worked on a community development project that involved the contribution of Course Instructor Ms. Zill-e-Huma, University’s students (Aleeza Hafeez, Narmeen Kaleem, Noor ul Huda, Sadia Tahir, and Tayyaba Rafique), and our key sponsors Yasir Sports and Dar ul haram.

The aim was to work for community building, and after lots of research, the students decided to empower women to generate income by providing them with physical assets like a sewing machine. To accomplish this task, we decided to contact the needy women to collect data about their skills to facilitate them accordingly. After receiving sponsorship from Yasir Sports and Dar ul haram, the students donated a sewing machine to a needy woman for earning. As students, we would like to express our sincere gratitude towards the Course Instructor, Ms. Zill-e-Huma, for her consistent efforts, guidance, and this great opportunity to work on the thoughtful assignment, which was quite impactful for the students.
