KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Amir Karachi Hafiz Naeem challenged in Sindh High Court recovering KMC charges by K-Electric through electricity bills.  Hafiz Naeem took plea in petition that K-Electric has imposed undue charges in bills. This illegal tax has been slapped in connivance with K-Electric.

Petitioner took plea charging of Rs 150 monthly on account of KMC chargers by K-Electric through electricity bills is illegal.

Conservancy charges are already included in bill of water board. Fire and conservancy charges are being recovered under various heads.  He prayed court to declare illegal KMC charges which are included in K-Electric bill. Notification regarding KMC charges be declared null and void.  KMC, K-Electric, Sindh government and federal government have been made respondents in petition.  Hafiz Naeem said this tax is being recovered from us in name of fuel adjustment. We are going to people against loot and plunder spree of K-Electric.

PPP is their facilitator. We expect judges will decide as per law on humanitarian basis and rights of people.   Murad Ali Shah should tell he has received Rs 11 billion in name of electricity charge so far and why he does not spend them.  He held all roads of city are broken. Condition of firefighting and garbage heaps are before us. Tax has been imposed in electricity bills to cover up their incompetence.  We are going to every community for referendum and we will seek opinion from every one.
