JI castigates Sindh govt over rising crime rate

Karachi: Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Chief Munim Zafar has condemned killing of youth by street criminals in Karachi on resisting robbery.
Speaking to media here after offering funeral prayers of youth who was killed by street criminals a day earlier, he demanded Sindh government to take action amid worsening law and order situation in city. According to JI Karachi Chief, as many as 80 citizens have been killed in last five months by criminals. Munim Zafar said that no place in province was safe as citizens in metropolis and riverine areas continue to suffer due to rising crime rate. He was at funeral prayers of Irtiqa, who was shot dead by robbers for resisting in Gulshan-e-Iqbal. 27-year-old chemical engineer was returning home after purchasing groceries from bakery in area when two motorcycle-borne robbers stopped him and attempted to snatch his belongings. According to police, Irtiqa was shot by robbers after he resisted robbery bid. Police report said that robbers had fled with cash and motorcycle of victim.
