JI announces sit-in outside ECP, RO offices over ‘unfair’ results

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced sit-in protests outside Election Commission and RO offices, demanding thorough review of results of general election 2024.

As per details, all three Jamaat-e-Islami National Assembly candidates raised concerns about results on general election 2024 and announced to hold protest.

Party has submitted formal requests to rectify results in accordance with Form 45, raising concerns about accuracy and fairness of election outcome.

Form 45 is critical document in election process and contains consolidated statement of results of count in polling station.

Hafiz Naeem accused MQM-P of rigging in elections. he said in press conference that general elections were held in country, people of Karachi remained confused due to internet and phone service suspension.

He said PTA and Ministry of Interior shut down net and mobile phones. Polling process was paralysed. Hafiz Naeemur-Rahman said that Election Commission had been preparing for year, but there were many polling stations in Karachi where polling started late. He said MQM tried to rig elections. He said that MQM created ruckus in city and tried to influence results. He said turnout of voting in Karachi was very good. He alleged that law enforcement agencies played no role in stopping MQM-P to influence polling.
