Lahore: Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Sirajul Haq has suggested holding elections across Pakistan simultaneously after Eidul Azha amid deadlock in negotiations between ruling coalition and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.
Speaking at ceremony at JI Central Headquarter Mansoorah here, he emphasised need for political parties to reach consensus on election date for betterment of country and nation.
He urged ruling coalition Pakistan Democratic Movement and opposition PTI to set aside their differences to achieve consensus. “If both sides take two steps back then resolution can be achieved,” he maintained. Siraj said that JI wanted polls to happen across the country simultaneously. Haq stressed that power to make final decision lies with people, who are true heirs of country. He highlighted critical role of youth in upcoming elections and how their participation will be crucial to nation’s betterment in current crisis.
JI leader also called for election of leadership that will bring peace and happiness to country. He said that his party’s youth would surprise everyone during next polls.
