The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has been granted permission to conduct its Gaza solidarity march in the capital city, following successful negotiations with the Islamabad Police.

JI will initiate its protest march from Abpara Chowk in Islamabad, demonstrating solidarity with Gaza, where Palestinians are enduring continuous airstrikes by Israeli occupation forces.

Notably, rally participants have been prohibited from entering the high-security zone of Srinagar Highway by the authorities.

A JI convoy, consisting of 30 vehicles, has departed from Peshawar to join the march, and it has reached the motorway interchange.

On Saturday, numerous JI leaders and members were apprehended for planning to stage a protest outside the United States embassy in the federal capital on the same day (Sunday). This action was taken by the capital administration when the party refused to change the location of their planned protest away from the US embassy.
