Jail Bharo Movement: PTI top brass announces to surrender in first phase

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf announced surrender of senior party leaders Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Asad Umar to authorities in initial phase of ‘Jail Bharo Movement’ in Lahore.
President of PTI Lahore, Sheikh Imtiaz Mehmood and General Secretary Zubair Niazi issued notification of committee which was formed for ‘Jail Bharo Movement.’
According to sources, in first phase, former Governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Waleed Iqbal and former provincial minister Dr Murad Raas will also go for court arrest, alongside senior party leaders and numerous PTI supporters will be there as well.
PTI will kickstart Jail Bharo Tehreek with former Punjab governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema, Senator Waleed Iqbal and ex-provincial Education Minister Murad Raas along with scores of other PTI workers surrendering at Charing Cross at 2pm.
Earlier PTI Chief Imran Khan had announced movement to take off on February 22 from Lahore. Caretaker Punjab government imposed Section 144 in Lahore for seven days with immediate effect, citing “Terror threat” and beginning of PSL-8 matches in city.
