Italian, Australian envoys discuss matters of mutual interest with Gov Tessori

Karachi: Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and Italian Lazio Region Ombudsman Marino Fardelli discussed role of ombudsman institution, importance provision of cheap justice and need for mutual cooperation at Governor House.

Marino Fardelli is also President of National Liaison of Ombudsman Institutions of Italy. Italian Consul General Danilo Giurdanella and Provincial Ombudsman Ejaz Ali Khan were present in meeting.

Governor said that common man is getting help in redressal of grievances, it is also improving performance of government institutions. He said that institution of provincial ombudsman is playing significant role in this regard. Merino Fardelli was invited by Governor to participate in Ombudsman’s conference in September. Delegation visited historical room of Father of the Nation in Governor House and informed about items used by Father of the Nation. Later, Governor told delegation about bell of hope installed outside Governor House. Aim is to provide relief to people who are surrounded by difficulties at night when everyone sleeps. Marino Fardelli praised this initiative of Governor and called it an important step towards solving problems of people.

Meanwhile, Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins and Governor Tessori discussed bilateral cooperation in various fields, increase in investment and trade. Governor said that Pakistan-Australia bilateral relations are getting stronger with time. He said that many sectors in province are very profitable for investment. Manpower is ideal for investment. He said that Australian investors should invest in province, they will provide all possible support. Later, Neil Hawkins rang Bell of Hope installed outside Governor House. High Commissioner described this initiative of Governor as ideal for solving problems of people.

Moreover, Tessori directed administration to take emergency measures in view of Cyclone Biperjoy. He said that emergency should be implemented in institutions under Karachi Municipality. He directed to ensure functioning of rain emergency centres, relief centres and emergency measures across city.
