ISLAMABAD: Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque met with different delegations of tech companies including Huawei and successful startups on sidelines of GITEX Global 2022 in Dubai. Matters related to IT and telecommunication were discussed during meetings.

Senior officers of Ministry of IT were also present in meetings, said a statement issued here. Meanwhile, on sidelines, Ignite and Huawei Pakistan signed an accord with a view to develop and expand a framework of cooperation between both organisations to strengthen relationships through talent development activities and startup programmes.

Minister was chief guest at accord signing ceremony. He visited Ignite Pavilion and appreciated startups for participating in GITEX 2022. Minister said that investment in Pakistani startups saw 30 percent increase during last four years. Ventures’ investment in Pakistani startups is proof of trust on Pakistani policies, he added.

In another major development Orbit-ed, an Ignite funded startup pitched their idea and moved to next round, where startup has received an invite to meet 1-1 with Oman Technology Fund (OTF) investment committee for final approval. In yesterday’s OTF pitches, about 30 startups participated and pitched their ideas to prestigious panel of jurors and investors.
