Islamabad Police to recruit mly veterans for deployment at sensitive buildings, red zone

Islamabad: Islamabad Capital Territory Police (ICTP) decided to recruit retired soldiers in different fields of law enforcement agency. According to sources, about 200 military veterans will be hired in Islamabad Police initially.
Educational qualification for recruitment will be till matriculation while age limit is set till 42 years, said sources, adding that character certificate, national identity card and educational credentials are mandatory for recruitment.
They added that retired soldiers will be deployed at sensitive buildings and red zone for security purposes. A day earlier, Islamabad administration asked Interior Ministry to call back Pakistan Army troops month after they were deployed in bid to deal with law and order situation following Imran Khan’s arrest on May 9. On May 10, military was called in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Islamabad to maintain deteriorating law and order situation after protests erupted countrywide. In letter to Ministry of Interior, Chief Commissioner of Islamabad said that situation in capital was “Satisfactory”.
“Therefore, it is requested requisition made vide referred letter may be de-notified in best interest of public,” letter said.
