ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Deputy Commissioner has withdrawn Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) order issued against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf President Chaudhry Parvez Elahi.

DC informed Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri of Islamabad High Court that MPO order issued against former Punjab Chief Minister Elahi had been withdrawn. Court disposed of petition filed by Elahi. Court asked number of FIR in which Elahi had been arrested.

After suspending MPO order, court ordered release of Elahi and summoned Islamabad DC in personal capacity.

Earlier, Anti-Terrorism Court of Islamabad adjourned hearing on Parvez Elahi's bail application. Judge Abul Hasnat Zulqarnain of ATC heard application of Elahi and his lawyer Abdul Raziq appeared in court. Prosecution did not submit records.

Lawyer requested for medical test of former Chief Minister and court approved request and issued instructions to superintendent of Adiala Jail. Later, court adjourned hearing on PTI President Elahi's bail application.
