ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Senator Ishaq Dar once again vented anger on journalist for questioning progress on Pakistan-International Monetary (IMF) talks for revival of loan programme. Ishaq Dar when questioned by journalist about status of Pakistan-IMF talks, got annoyed and ordered security staff to throw away journo’s mobile phone.

Video of incident has surfaced which showed Dar walking on stairs along with his security staff. Journalist started filming him and asking question, “When will negotiations with IMF be successful? Why talks with IMF are not being successful?” Questions apparently irked Dar a lot as he ordered his security staff to throw away journalist’s mobile phone. Security staff tried to snatch journalist’s mobile phone following Senator’s order. Journalist namely Shahid Qureshi is private news channel, Ausaf Broadcasting Network (ABN) reporter. In video statement, Shahid Qureshi said that Ishaq Dar slapped him for an IMF-related question and ordered his security staff to teach him lesson.

In May, Dar lost his cool over ‘tough’ questions from journalists about revival of country’s economy. Dar was responding to questions from media men after addressing inaugural session of International Conference on Islamic Capital Market in Islamabad.
