ISLAMABAD: Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has surrendered him before Accountability Court (AC) after five years in assets case. Ishaq Dar appeared in AC led by Judge Muhammad Bashir.  At inception of hearing judge inquired from Ishaq Dar where you remained for such long period.  Ishaq Dar told court, “I wanted to return to Pakistan despite my ill health but Imran led government got my passport cancelled.

Embassies all over world were directed not to issue passport to me. Now passport has been given to me and I have now appeared in court. Court allowed him to go after his attendance.  Court while issuing notice on petition from Ishaq Dar seeking cancellation of his perpetual arrest warrants sought reply from NAB till October 7. Talking to media men later he said I returned to Pakistan two nights before. I tried to appear in court but learned judge was on leave. Today I have appeared and filed my petition.

He said, “Fake case was registered against me that I had not filed tax returns for 20 years from 1981 to 2021 in Pakistan. While I did not delay filing of tax return even for 20 minutes during last 40 years.”

This case ran in London and I filed all tax returns. They slapped on face of Imran Khan. They wrote me there is no evidence against me. They directed Interpol what was inserted against me in immigration system under orders of Imran should be expunged.  This all reflect that false case was made against me, he said adding those who had made this case should all feel ashamed and they should tender apology to nation.

Unfortunately one party has assembled mob and this party knows nothing except negative politics.  Our second endeavour is to bring down inflation, he held. We will scale down rate of interest and revive economy. I am not making tall claims.  In past PML-N government has succeeded in doing so.  We don’t believe in any deal. Whosoever believe in deal should tell how RTS was closed. How election was stolen. It is bad luck that precious 5 years of Pakistan have been wasted. Pakistan has lagged behind by 30 years.  Miftah ismail has tried to improve economy by dint of his experience and he will stay as member of our economic team, he underlined.
