Investors lost faith in govt due to ineffective policies, economy devastation: PTI Chief

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan lambasted current administration, claiming that investors had lost faith in government due to its policies.
Imran Khan speaking to gathering of his economic team, expressed apprehension that things would spiral out of control. Khan said he had sought help of Hammad Azhar, Hamayun Akthar, Omar Ayub and others to discuss economic situation. He lamented that media did not highlight state of economy.
“We are making all-out efforts to inform people about economic condition. We’ll explain to people how nation is struggling to deal with current predicament and how we can overcome it. Current situation will have effects on key state institutions,” added Khan.
Citing Soviet Union’s force, Imran said Soviet Union’s force was most powerful Army in world. He reiterated that court must play part if nation is to avoid quick decline. Highlighting contributions made by his government, he said, “Wealthiest people in our time were farmers. Farmers experienced their first-ever record profits. During our time, industries were growing. Industry saw 10.7 percent gain in large-scale manufacturing.
Imran Khan said, “Country’s dollar deficit was widening and that we had taken out loans to cover instalment payments”.
He decided that it would dissolve Punjab Assembly in initial phase, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly would be dissolved in second phase.
Sources privy to matter said significant decision about dissolution of assemblies and resignations from National Assembly was made at meeting chaired by Khan. Initially, Punjab Assembly would be dissolved.
Additionally, nationwide protest movement would be transformed into an electoral campaign. Sources said it was resolved at meeting that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly would be dissolved in second phase and all members from Rawalpindi confirmed that they would quit National Assembly.
Lawmakers said PTI had full confidence in national and provincial assemblies and that they would frequently participate in Imran Khan’s electoral campaigns because PDM government’s failed policies had irreparably damaged Pakistan.
Lawmakers said it is going through worst economic crisis, adding that transparent snap elections were only way to get out of quagmire.
