Invest in Pakistan’s gainful tourism sector, Masood Khan urges Pakistani Americans

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has most beautiful and undiscovered touristic sites with huge untapped tourism potential, Ambassador Masood Khan said, urging members of Pakistani community to help boost tourism in their motherland by investing in this potentially lucrative sector.

Masood Khan Ambassador to United States speaking at reception for Pakistani delegates to New York’s Travel and Adventure Show at Consulate here said, country is not only home to ancient and modern civilisations, but also vast untouched coastal areas, deserts and rich cultural heritage all making country as one of top travel destinations in world.

Ayesha Ali Consul General welcomed visiting delegates, saying they did great job in setting up impressive Pakistan Pavilion at two-day Travel and Adventure show in which 185 countries are taking part. Reception followed inauguration of Pakistan pavilion at show, depicting country’s tourism potential, by Advisor to Prime Minister on Tourism and Sports Aun Chaudhry. Aun Chaudhry cut green ribbon to open pavilion to visitors, saying, “Pakistan is open for tourism.”

Minister for Tourism in Gilgit-Baltistan Raja Nasir Ali Khan, Azad Kashmir Tourism Minister Faheem Akhtar, and Managing Director of Pakistan Tourism and Development Corporation Aftab Rana among present there.

Masood Khan said he was very impressed by dynamism and energy of officials and delegates manning stalls at Pakistani pavilion while briefing tourism lovers about ancient and cultural sites in Pakistan as well as facilities provided for tourists.
