Introduction of Turkish Cuisine to Pakistani chefs

Karachi: Two-week Turkish Cuisine Training Programme organised by Turkish Cooperation and FC Coordination Agency (TIKA) in cooperation with Pakistan Tourism and Hospitality Management Institute (PITHM) ended with certification ceremony attended by Sindh Minister of Culture and Education Syed Sardar Ali Shah and Consul General of Republic of Turkiye to Karachi Cemal Sangu.
Sardar Ali Shah said that he had opportunity to taste many Turkish dishes during his visit to Turkiye last year and he was very pleased that TIKA had brought these flavors to Pakistan through training programme conducted by PITHM's trained chefs.
Cemal Sangu stated that TIKA has activities in almost all countries of world. He stated that it is fact that TIKA is operating with two offices which shows value of bonding with Pakistan.
TIKA Karachi Programme Coordinator Halil Ibrahim Basaran expressed that food has cultural carrier characteristic, therefore TIKA works to increase cultural interaction between two brotherly countries through cultural programs. Basaran stated that TIKA's cooperation with PITHM will continue and in second stage, it will support programmes that will promote Pakistani cuisine in Turkiye.
50 student participants were presented with certificates by Syed Sardar Ali Shah and Cemal Sangu. Turkish cuisine prepared by Pakistani chefs was presented to guests.
Pakistan Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management, Pakistani chefs learned about preparation of 10 different menus and 40 different dishes from Turkish chefs. 40 kinds of food were taught from lentil soup to yogurt soup and from Turkish kebabs to desserts.
