ISLAMABAD: Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar directed Capital Development Authority (CDA) to make special focus on construction of vertical buildings for providing houses to maximum people, instead of using valuable agricultural land in allotment of plots to employees.

Chairing meeting of Cabinet, he directed to formulate policy in this regard. Policy of allotment of plots to CDA employees was presented to Cabinet in light of decision of Islamabad High Court.

According to decision of Islamabad High Court, CDA had to determine difference in income of CDA by giving employees at concessional rates. Cabinet deferred decision on proposed allotment policy.

On recommendation of Interior Ministry, Cabinet also approved open bidding for procurement of services of category A audit firm, issued by State Bank of Pakistan for audit of National Database Registration Authority. It modified decision taken by Cabinet in 2019, according to which only four large and reputed audit firms could be hired for audit of NADRA.

However in this decision, all category A firms registered in SBP have been provided equal opportunities for audit of NADRA. Meeting was apprised that to make audit of NADRA, more effective, transparent and in line with international standard, it was important to provide equal opportunities to all category A firms registered with SBP for audit of NADRA.

Meanwhile, Cabinet on recommendation of Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, approved nomination of project of “Cyber Security for Digital Pakistan” as “National Computer Emergency Response Team”.

Meeting was informed that project-Cyber Security for Digital Pakistan was part of national development budget and work on it had already been initiated. On recommendation of Ministry of Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan Affairs, Cabinet approved amendment of Section 5(2) of Adaptaion Act.

Cabinet postponed approval of decisions made in meeting of Cabinet Committee on Privatisation Commission on February 7, 2024. Meeting approved decisions taken in meeting of Cabinet Committee on Legislation held on January 31 and February 7, 2024.
