ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F Senator Kamran Murtaza said extension or appointment did not fall within purview of caretaker set up. Senator Murtaza emphasised that Section 230 of Election Act, 2017 explicitly restricted caretaker setup from making any major appointments or extensions.

During session, he addressed establishment of separate Ministry dedicated to handling affairs related to minerals of Balochistan.

Expressing his reservations, he questioned justification behind such move, calling for transparency and accountability in decision-making process.

On separate note, he raised concerns about recent abduction and subsequent recovery of Naseeb Ullah Achakzai. He urged authorities to enhance law and order in Balochistan, emphasising need for improved security measures to safeguard well-being of citizens.
