Interim CM Sindh, Minister discuss set up of Industrial Park in Steel Mills

Karachi: Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqir and Minister for Commerce, Industry and Board of Investment Gohar Ijaz Khan held meeting at Chief Minister House in which they discussed need to establish more industrial parks in Karachi.
Interim Chief Minister said that industrialisation is only solution to develop economy and create employment opportunities and it certainly opens new avenues for prosperity and development. Interim Minister informed CM that 1,500 acres of steel mill land was allocated for industrial park and its development was assigned to Chinese authorities under CPEC. He said that government has prepared plan to hand over it to Chinese authorities to establish its industrial units. Baqar said that provincial government has started development of Dhabiji Industrial Zone and development of another industrial park in Steel Mills will be an excellent initiative. Justice (retd) Baqir said that country needs industrial units that produce goods only for export. He said that we need exports to earn foreign exchange, otherwise country will lag behind in ongoing industrial development. Baqar was informed that Industrial Park at Steel Mill will create more than one million direct and indirect employment opportunities besides promoting export of manufactured goods.
