Interim CM Punjab considering upgrading schools, hospitals with support of MHP

LAHORE: It has been decided in principle to hand over management of 1,000 schools of Punjab from Muslim Hands Pakistan (MHP). Six-member delegation of Muslim Hands Pakistan met caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of Muslim Hands Pakistan Syed Lakht Hasnain gave briefing about welfare activities.
Caretaker CM was informed that Muslim Hands Pakistan is running 117 schools in Punjab, health and education welfare projects are being run in various districts of South Punjab, market-based IT to guide youth towards self-reliance. 18 schools of excellence and 35 model schools are being run in Punjab.
It was decided in principle to entrust management of 1,000 schools of Muslim Hands Pakistan to Pakistan. Secretary Schools Education was directed to fix rules and regulations with Muslim Hands Pakistan and to settle the issues regarding MoU between government of Punjab and Muslim Hands Pakistan within week.
In meeting, proposal to entrust management of orphanages and Darul Aman to Muslim Hands Pakistan was also reviewed.
Caretaker CM said that with cooperation of private sector and welfare organisations, standard of education in government schools will be raised, with cooperation of Muslim Hands Pakistan, consideration will be given to upgrade emergency rooms of major hospitals.
