Karachi: Caretaker Minister for Information, Minority Affairs, Social Protection and President Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi Ahmad Shah marked significant moment of unity by visiting Karachi's historic St. Patrick's Cathedral and Holy Trinity Cathedral Church. Accompanied by Chief Minister Sindh, Justice Retired Maqbool Baqir, leaders participated in Christmas celebrations to foster religious harmony in country.
Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh, Justice (retd) Maqbool Baqir emphasised importance of religious coexistence, stating, "Guiding principle of Quaid-e-Azam is that religious harmony should develop in country." He expressed admiration for coincidence of celebrating birthday of father of nation alongside Christmas festival,
During festivities, cake-cutting ceremony took place with Christian community, symbolising spirit of shared joy and collaboration. Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh extended heartfelt wishes, saying, "I have come here today to express same feelings and emotions of Christian community. We fully share happiness of Christian brothers and I assure that we will continue to cooperate fully in security and other matters in future.
Ahmed Shah reaffirmed Sindh government's commitment to supporting Christian community. He stated, "Cooperation of Sindh government is with Christian community," assuring that entire administration stands in solidarity with them.
Bishop Trinity Frederick John expressed gratitude for government's attention to security and well-being of Christian community. He said, "I am happy that Chief Minister of Sindh and Minister of Minority Affairs are participating in our joy."
Visit and celebrations exemplify commitment to inclusivity, cooperation and promotion of religious harmony in province.
